Tea for Two

Talking about reverence with a sneer; 

what a delightful pastime we seem to have discovered! 

I wonder if we were hell bent into manifesting 

a wildly out of the blue experience that only we were privy to. 

A harmonious discord of sorts — 

sharing half-hearted secrets with the same zeal and enthusiasm 

that seem to bind us in this unspoken union of zeros and ones. 

It is only fair to offer, at times, an inconsequential indifference 

towards this never-ending cycle of give and take. 

Could we have achieved this genuine ease  

of moral ambiguity with a different approach? 

So cozy and flush without inhibitions 

that constantly have us reinforce our tortured selves. 

So defiant and composed — 

it doesn’t even matter anymore.
