In Love

We have carried out the unspeakable,

quiet behind the sheets of whispers,

jubilant before the questioning gaze,

triumphant we lay in a warm embrace,

carefree under the turquoise skies.

Who can fathom the dearth of wisdom?

We do not need its worry or consent.

For this moment transcends to a crescendo,

like our quavering hearts trembling as one.

Hush! Hear us breathe the sultry air,

so thick with bottled emotions waiting to pop,

high over the twilight’s song,

permeating to the ends of the world,

consecrated and defiled, over and over.

Behold! We rise and fall

without remorse,

in love.
